“Global Harvest Festival” Report -English version-
Hello! We held “Global Harvest Festival” on November 14th,2015. We want to report how it went!
It is harvest season. A variety of seasonal food is now delicious in Kushiro area, such as fish and vegetables.
People from different countries who live in Kushiro made dishes from their own country using Kushiro ingredients.
This time, people from South Korea, China, Taiwan, Russia, Malaysia and Turkey joined the event.

We will look back and make a simple report.
The event took place at “Tetsuhoku Central Hall”, near the back of Kushiro Station.
Now, we want to introduce the chefs!
First, Canan Akimoto from Turkey. She has lived in Kushiro for a year and a half.
The first item is “chiburekki” which is a very famous dish from the Central Anatolia region of Turkey.
This is sheep meat covered in flour.
The second item is a traditional dessert of Turkey called “halva”.
It was nice and crumbled, and the nuts smelled good.
Paper plates were also cute! This “halva” was the most popular dish of the day!
It quickly sold out!
Then of Li eni from China.
She has featured in content ”hitomeguri”in our webpage, please take a look.
This two people are Paul Leontyev and Sveta Motorina from Russia. There are studying in Kushiro Public University of Economics.
The first cuisine is a Russian version cabbage rolls called “Garubutsui”.
The second cuisine is a hamburger dish with rice called the “offigensuki”.
Deva sai and Ling Jyun Ting two international students from Taiwan.
“sanbeiji”, a chicken basil dish and served with stir-fried vegetables vermicelli.
Siti Aishah Binti Hamdan and Siti Syuhada Binti Azhar from Malaysia, two Kushiro technical college international students.
Seafood flavored “Assam Pedas”, a sour spicy curry soup over rice.
Nan and Jeon Daeho from Korea.
Nan is a Korean restaurant owner and teacher. Jeon is an international student.
Their “Spicy Rice Cakes” Korean food stall.
This uses a squid pulled from Kushiro’s ocean!
Even using Kushiro’s own seafood and vegetables, we’ve never eaten these foods before!
It was all delicious!
Koyo Elementary School fourth graders also joined in! They made two teams.
The first team made Kushiro cookies.
The second team made a sunset dart board.

This was our first food event.
We could do this safely because of everyone’s cooperation!
